Safety First: Our Commitment to Excellence
The Cieszko Standard
At Cieszko Construction Company Inc., safety isn’t just a checklist; it’s the foundation of every project we break ground on. Whether we are reshaping the landscape through precision site grading or installing critical utility infrastructure, our primary goal remains the same: Ensuring every team member and partner returns home safely every single day.
Core Safety Focus Areas
1. Precision Site Grading Safety
Moving massive amounts of earth requires more than just heavy machinery—it requires constant vigilance.
• Equipment Exclusion Zones: We enforce strict perimeters around active grading equipment to prevent ground-level incidents.
• Stability Monitoring: Our team continuously assesses soil stability and slope gradients to prevent shifts or collapses during the grading process.
• GPS & Technology Integration: We utilize advanced grading technology to minimize manual staking, keeping our workers away from active machinery paths.
2. Utility Infrastructure & Excavation
Utility work is high-stakes. We mitigate the “invisible” risks through rigorous protocols:
• Zero-Damage Policy: Strict adherence to “Call Before You Dig” (811) and private locating services to identify existing gas, water, and electrical lines.
• Trench Safety: We maintain 100% compliance with OSHA trenching and shoring standards. If a trench isn’t shored, shielded, or sloped, we don’t enter it.
• Confined Space Entry: Specialized training and monitoring for all personnel involved in manhole installations or underground vault work.
Our Culture of Accountability
A safe site is a productive site. We maintain our industry-leading safety record through:
• Activity Hazard Analysis: Every job begins with a site-specific hazard analysis to address expected hazards of the project.
• Continuous Training: Our operators and field crews undergo regular safety training and refresher courses.
• Stop-Work Authority: Every member of the Cieszko team, regardless of rank, has the authority and responsibility to stop any task they deem unsafe.
